I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Velasco after researching new OB/GYNs. My two prior GYNs had seemed rushed and uncaring. I was able to get an appointment fairly quickly (withn 6 weeks) and absolutley loved the doctor! She spent a lot of time getting to know me and wanted to know my extensive family history. When it came time for the exam, she let ME decide which tests I wanted done after explaining the importance and recommended frequency of each. She then referred me to a specialist for one particular ailment, commenting that she was not a specialist in that area. I respect that kind of humility in a doctor. Overall, it was a very positive experience for what can be an unpleasant exam. I highly recommend Dr. Velasco (although I hope she doesn't get too popular)

Dr. Velasco is a fantastic doctor. She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, kind, a definite exemplary doctor. She listens to everything you ask or say, she gives her complete attention to everything! She always makes me feel like I am important to her and that's so wonderful because I am an old lady!! I was so frightened when I had my first appointment because I was so afraid she was going to suggest surgery, but she did a complete exam, told me what she found and her suggestions to fix my problem. I feel like she is an Angel sent here to take care of people that she truly cares about and it shows with her personal attention to every detail. Lovelace is so lucky to have this woman and I hope they truly appreciate all she does. God bless this fantastic woman, she truly is exemplary. I am so, so lucky to have her as my doctor.

I saw Dr. Velasco for the first time. I found her to be very professional yet kind. She took the time to explain things to me and allowed me to ask many questions.

The patient care I received was fantastic. I feel all questions were answered and concerns addressed. She's a 5 star rating. My issue lies in the system. A 3:15 appointment time should be seen prior to 4:30. I arrived at 3:00 as requested for check-in. I saw numerous women come and go. Not one gal from the desk addressed me to say let me see what's going on. After an hour, I approached them only to feel their annoyance with me. Then I waited another 30 minutes. Lovelace clearly states there's a fee for arriving 15 minutes late, what about patients who wait 90 minutes to be seen. I'm certain at noon the doctor was already behind. A call to me would have been appreciated. I took off 2 hours of work, had to find a sub to teach my elementary students only to sit and wait. I could have left work on time if the doctor was running that far behind. While I appreciate the care provided to me, Lovelace needs to schedule appointments long enough for providers to give proper care. Over booking and double booking may work for you financially, but it doesn't when it comes to patient care. You're doing everyone a disservice. Frustrated providers, Frustrated patients. 😠
