About Robert James Donachie, M.D.
Robert James Donachie Jr., M.D. is a board-certified Gastroenterologist and Internal Medicine physician. Dr. Donachie received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from Tulane University of Louisiana, with honors. He then went on to complete medical school at The University of Texas Medical School at Houston, obtaining his Doctor of Medicine. He began his residency at the University of Texas Houston Affiliated Hospitals as an Internal Medicine Resident. He then finished his Gastroenterology Fellowship at the same university. Dr. Donachie opened his private Gastroenterology practice in 1987. He then founded and was acting president at Texas Endoscopy, LLC., a surgery center development and operations company. Dr. Donachie has also been a board member serving on multiple committees including Dallas County Medical Society, Legacy Healthcare Group, Genesis Physicians Group and Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American College of Physician Executives and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
His personal interests consist of music, reading, meeting new people, golf and spending time with his family. He is currently President of the Dallas Jazz Piano Society that provides public concerts and sponsors student education through the Keys for Kids Scholarship Program.
