About Sharon Cooperman, M.D., Ph.D.
Sharon Cooperman, M.D., Ph.D. is a board certified neurologist. Dr. Cooperman received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, followed by her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from the Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences, Tufts University Medical School in Boston. She went on to earn her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York.
Dr. Cooperman completed an internship in internal medicine at the University of New Mexico Hospital, a residency in neurology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. After several years conducting research at the National Institutes of Health she returned to clinical medicine, completing additional training in movement disorders at Albany Medical Center, a fellowship in sleep disorders at the University of New Mexico and a fellowship in vascular neurology at the Detroit Medical Center. In addition to board certification in neurology, she is board certified in clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine and vascular neurology.
