My appointment with Dr. Parvathaneni was, in a word, exceptional. It's been a long time since I waited less than 5 minutes after my appointment time to be greeted by my physician. The doctor was professional, very thorough, and had no hesitation in scheduling the appropriate follow-up procedures to help diagnose my condition. I would highly recommend her and the staff at The Heart Institute.

These two professionals went above and beyond to make sure everything was seen to and taken care of. They did not leave a stone unturned. This is not the care we are used to, it almost seemed to good to be true! But it all was true! They both kept us in the loop at all times. The before surgery, during and recovery we're all to the highest standards with no shortcuts taken, super kind, friendly and most of all knowledgeable and professional! The nurse and doctor did their jobs professional. The only issues I had was the amount of time it took to get the appointment (6 weeks) then my appointment was 8:15am, I checked in at 7:38am, then called to see the doctor at 8:32am.

My experience was very satisfactory. From the staff that checked me in to the lady who checked me out , they were courteous and knowledgeable. Dr. Parvatheneni has a wonderful manner, was personable and efficient. I just wished I didn't have to wait 6 months for follow up tests.

All went well for the appointment but trying to get ahold of Dr. for surgery release was difficult. I was told her office would call back and let me know that she released me for surgery and it's been over a week. My Dr. doesn't show any record of the release either. I called and left messages as well as using their online service.

Outstanding staff, attentive and kind.  I had an MI in June of 2009.  I have been coming to heart for 10 years and never received anything less than outstanding service. With the outbreak of COVID-19 in NM, I wanted to take a moment to thank the staff for their professionalism and compassion in some truly unusual circumstances.  At my appointment last week I saw some patients being difficult.  Noah and the door team were kind and caring while trying to ensure the safety of the patients and staff.  Thanks to them for that.  The check in team was wonderful as always.  The medical staff was great, and I always enjoy the straight forward approach of Dr. Cavanaugh. I am happy Heart Institute is available here in NM.

The doctors here are all very professional and knowledgeable.   I have had gray experiences with Dr. Bestarrows, Dr. Kunz. And Dr Moaz Mazel. They do procedures here that can't be done at UNMH.  The OR is state of the art.

Crystal Lewis-Hicks deserves the title of Dr. Lewis-Hicks. If you are one of those people who are from the East Coast and are used to your PCP having a MD behind her/his name, you will be more than satisfied seeing Crystal Lewis-Hicks. This medical professional is extremely professional and knowledgeable in everything she does. I will wager to say that she knows more than some MDs in any area. Seriously!! Best Doctor in town who is a Nurse Practitioner.  When I say I can't write enough praise, I mean it. Lovelace is so blessed to have her. I told her if I can make Beyoncé and Will Smith money, I would totally ask her if I could convince her to be a concierge doctor!  Remember she is part of Lovelace so don't get confused by seeing Crystal Lewis-Hicks at this location!!

This has become my one stop shop for healthcare. I am incredibly lucky to have found cardiologist, Dr. Sopko, and PCP, CNP, Hicks. I genuinely feel listened to, and taken care of. The staff is great, knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. The wait times are not bad at all, and the waiting room has a lot of seating. The clinic is clean, they have state of the art equipment, and they send you test results and appointment reminders/recaps through a very secure online portal.

I have been a patient here for over two years. I would give my doctors here five stars! They are excellent. They are very knowledgeable on cardiac conditions and are good at explaining things in a way that makes sense.  They allow me to participate in my treatment by providing me with options and helping me make the best decision for myself. Only reason for 4 stars is that appointment scheduling can be a pain sometimes!  Being on hold for over 30 minutes to make an appointment is a bit ridiculous. But, I love my cardiologists here and will not go anywhere else!

So I needed a cardiologist when I moved here to replace my amazing cardiologist from my previous home.  I looked around for a good doctor who met my criteria and found Dr. Sopko at NMHI.   I don't have a cardiac issue, just keeping tabs on the potential due to family issues, so it was a simple visit, but Dr. Sopko was very thorough and pleasant.  She made sure she didn't miss anything, and I felt well taken care of. Additionally, I take Coumadin (a blood thinner) for a different issue, and NMHI has a Coumadin Clinic, which I am happy to say is great!  Coumadin basically sucks, and it's good to have a central place to go for answers, assistance and support. NMHI is frequently extremely busy, and their front desk can be a swarm to navigate through, but I'm not sure it would be any better anywhere else.  The overall assessment of this office is positive, and I would recommend it for quality care, if not lack of bureaucracy.
