Dr. Gilligan is an amazing surgeon! He took excellent care of me. Now my knee is wonderful

Dr. Gilligan and his fine efficient team have restored my faith in New Mexico’s healthcare system while returning me to an active healthy lifestyle. Dr. Gilligan was the 3rd Orthopedic surgeon to lay hands on my knee but the 1st to recognize there was a lot more going on than just degenerative changes. I had a serious infection that completely sidelined me. Dr Gilligan diagnosed it and quickly put a plan and team together (that included Infectious Disease experts) to address the very painful situation. 8 weeks later I’m back in the land of the living enjoying physical activity and the things that mean the most to me. Dr Gilligan’s team (& most especially his care coordinator, Carrie Ritchie,) were — & remain — available to me at every turn in the process, no matter how small the question felt. I couldn’t be more grateful or relieved.

Dr Gilligan is a top notch surgeon and ortho doc with tremendous skills in the OR and office. He replaced my 68 yo right hip 2/16/2023, and now it’s been a year and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. His entire staff (assistants, X-ray techs, front desk) are all professional and cordial.i also want to thank the surgical personnel pre-op, post-op, and after I got to my room. I don’t know the names, but they all contributed greatly. A special thanks to the anesthesiologist who stopped by pre-op and explained that aspect, very reassuring. If my rt hip gives out, I have every confidence Dr. Gilligan will get me back on my feet. Again, thanks to all.

Dr. Gilligan and his entire team were simply the best. He performed a total hip replacement for me a year ago. I am extremely pleased with the surgery and after care, and can confidently state that my hip couldn't be better. I just am sure to do modest physical training a couple times a week, and my range of motion and strength are excellent! I wish he did shoulders also, but I appreciate that his focus on hips keeps him at the tip-top of his game and technological advances. I am an engineer and tend to have lots of questions. Dr. Gilligan had them all answered leaving no room for me to have doubts or unknown concerns entering surgery. I recommend him to everyone.

He not only spent time fully explaining what was currently happening to my hip and what surgery could do for me, but also really listened to me. Dr Gilligan and his team are amazing! I had arthritis in my right hip. Dr. Gilligan performed my total hip arthroplasty anterior approach. His bedside manner is calm and he seeks to give great information. I am seven weeks out and have a completely new lease on life! The pain after surgery was minimal. I was up and around quickly. The most amazing Orthopedic practice in New Mexico . Dr. Gilligan has saved my left knee not once but twice with his fantastic skills . The front office and all the supporting medical staff are super friendly and very knowledgeable ! The Surgical Team that I've met at Lovelace Medical Group, is extremely Professional in my opinion. I was treated for osteoarthritis which is severe and destroyed both hips. Doctor Gilligan, the Surgeon who did replace both hips, made me feel at ease prior to the surgeries. I was up and walking only a few hours after the first, and my apprehension dissolved completely. The second was the same, resulting in my ability to walk without any assistive devices, for the first time in two years. I have never been cared for by any other Hospital, at 71, which is their Patient Care standard at Lovelace, as well or as completely.
