About Mark Polhemus, M.D.

Mark Polhemus, M.D., FACP, FASTMH, is the Director of Infectious Disease with Lovelace Health System.

Dr. Polhemus earned his bachelor of science in Business Administration at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, and completed his Doctor of Medicine at Brown University School of Medicine in Providence, Rhode Island. He completed both his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Infectious Disease at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC. Dr. Polhemus belongs to the Infectious Disease Society of America and is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene.

After his retirement from the U.S. Army in 2011, Dr. Polhemus has spent more than 10 years working in treatment and research of infectious diseases, as well as vaccine development.
